An important message from
Dr. Scroggins...
As we see
many patients from out of town, Dr. Scroggins and
his staff will do their utmost to make your Cosmetic
Surgery trip to D.C. metropolitan area rewarding and
enjoyable. Whether you are having surgery in
surgicenter, or at nearby Doctors Hospital, we will provide
helpful suggestions to maximize your comfort, and
minimize time away from home.
We
have arranged special guest rates for 2 of
Maryland's premiere hotels,
and a number of tips are listed below concerning
preparation for surgery, local attractions, access
to maps, and other useful information concerning
your stay in Greenbelt, Maryland.
We care about our out-of-town patients
We try to tailor out-of-town consultations and
surgeries to fall on consecutive days, and do a
compressed follow-up aiming to get patients home on
the 3rd or 4th day post-op, but this leads to some
logistical hurdles. Since it is difficult for
patients to describe what I will see at
consultation, and since I need this data well in
advance of an out-of-town consultation, I request
patients call the office (301) 220-0400 to talk to
the staff about specifics of their health history,
as well as habits such as smoking, use of medicines
and homeopathics.
I also request a set of patient photos (front, both
sides and 45 degree quarter-view photos -- no
faces). This allows me to make a good estimate of
the potential need for skin tailoring (Mastopexy),
as well as estimate the volume range of implants
needed. Since surgical patients may require some
help in the early hours post-op, it is important
that all out- of- town patients have a companion at
discharge, or we can put you in touch with a
private- duty nursing agency, beforehand, to provide
this for you on the day of surgery.
Currently some local hotels have arranged favorable
rates and transportation for out-of-towners, to make
your stay as pleasant as possible. There are ample
activities available for visitors to Greenbelt, even
those who are recuperating from surgery (Museums,
Parks, etc.)
Local Accommodations
